Algorithm & Analytics Developer
Vire Health Oy is a Finnish health-tech company that helps people time their activity, recovery and sleep for better health. The Vire Clip sits discreetly at the waist – near the body’s core – and, together with the Vire app, turns signals from core temperature, breathing, and movement into clear timing guidance. Vire was founded in 2021 as a spin-off from Lappeenranta University research and is headquartered in Finland. Vire is going to market in 2026 and is currently raising its Seed round.
We're seeking an Algorithm & Analytics Developer who enjoys turning complex and messy biosignal measurements into practical, user-facing features. This is a meaningful role at a pivotal moment for our product. In 2026, we're bringing the Gen1 Vire Clip and app to market, and your work will play a key part in making that happen.
How you’ll contribute
You'll take responsibility in transforming biosignal measurements into human-readable information and everyday insights. You will be working with data from low-level signal processing techniques to cloud-native pipelines, with an emphasis on cloud-based analytics and computing. Your work will involve experimentation and problem solving, ranging from raw data collection and processing to setting up machine learning pipelines.
You can deal with sparse time series data, incomplete or faulty measurements, and limited information about the real-life conditions in which the device is being used. Acquiring training data is often labor-intensive and involves setting up experimental protocols, so you can get creative and use classical signal processing tools, common sense, or leverage open datasets. You're willing to learn new skills and techniques, while maintaining a pragmatic, user-centric approach under a schedule.
What you’ll bring
- Around 3-8 years of experience in applied data analysis and machine learning
- Strong Python skills
- Strong fundamentals in machine learning and related data processing techniques
- Understanding about basic physics, statistics and linear algebra
- Familiarity with software development, databases and versioning
Cross-domain knowledge from some other, related field is appreciated, but not strictly necessary. Such fields may include, for example:
- Biosignal analysis
- Human physiology and anatomy
- (Applied) physics
- Electrical engineering
- Control theory, dynamical systems
- Digital signal processing, filters
- Statistics
- Laboratory work and setting up experiments
In addition to your technical skills, you bring a pragmatic mindset with a clear bias toward building and delivering. You're resilient and resourceful, able to simplify complexity and move work forward. You'll collaborate with a small but growing team with specialists from various fields and backgrounds.
Having a health and wellness interest is deeply ingrained in the company culture and thereby expected from the candidates but having experience in the sector is a plus, not a requirement.
What you'll experience here
At Vire, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape a product that helps people improve their wellbeing. You’ll join early enough to have an impact on core product decisions, customer experience, and the brand our users will carry close to their cores and in their routines.
We’re kind, candid, and collaborative—with clear ownership and a high bar for quality, privacy, and reliability. We are biased to action, instrument everything, and care about driving results through tight and improvement-centric iterations.
The short version - why join Vire
- Work with meaningful problems and create real user impact, with autonomy and ownership from day one
- Get a chance to join early and influence culture, processes, and product direction
- Work in fast learning cycles and collaborate with our scientists and experts across different fields — get a strong trajectory for personal growth
Your compensation will include a monthly salary and equity options. We work in a remote-first team across European time zones with quarterly Finland based offsites.
