We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join Exertus’ product development team. Join our team of curious and creative problem-solvers and help develop control system solutions for mobile machines used worldwide. You’ll collaborate with international customers and talented colleagues to build truly world-class systems.

Your role

In this role, you’ll dive deep into Exertus’ Linux-based control system platform. You will design and develop firmware, solve complex challenges in embedded systems, and have a key influence on the architecture and future of our platform. We value your ability to work independently on technically demanding topics while also enjoying close collaboration with other experts.

Your work spans a broad range of technologies, from state-of-the-art system-on-chip hardware, including the upcoming i.MX 95, to the Linux kernel and embedded software. While you’ll work with our existing core platform, the main focus is on developing new products and features, as well as tailoring our current products to meet our clients' needs.

We’re looking for someone experienced with:

• Linux on embedded hardware, including board bring-up
• Linux driver development
• C programming
• Linux build systems (e.g., Yocto or Buildroot)

It’s a plus if you also have experience in: 

• Embedded electronics and hardware design
• Container technologies
• Other programming languages (e.g., C++, Rust, Go)
• Software development platforms (e.g., Qt, ROS2)

Location

Your location will be in our head office in Seinäjoki. Our team enjoys working at our newly renovated office, and while we’re flexible about remote work, we hope you’d like to visit about once a week. You can get to know our hoods better here.
